URWERK
Unlock the universe
URWERK UR-100V "Stardust" (and its 400 diamonds) will surprise youI don't think many people fully appreciate the complexity of the philosophy behind the URWERK UR-100V fashion replica watches. At least, I haven't heard or read anyone actually talking about it. Maybe we're just too used to the idea of URWERK to think about it anymore. It's a good question for URWERK, but I feel like I need to highlight it anyway, especially in light of their latest version of the UR-100V (nicknamed the Stardust).
The first thing you will notice is that this watch is set with gemstones, which is relatively rare in the URWERK collection, but not entirely unknown. That said, this is the first time URWERK has used a technique known as snow setting in their main range. (Earlier this year, three limited-edition UR-100V watches featuring this gem-setting technique were launched to commemorate the 15th anniversary of long-time retail partner PMT The Hour Glass in Thailand.)
Snow setting is characterized by the use of stones of different sizes, arranged not in regular lines and shapes as you would normally expect, but in a completely random configuration with no obvious repeating pattern. This requires the experienced hands of a master gem-setter, who can create a tapestry of gemstones without a predetermined pattern, placing the stones closely together so that they appear as one shimmering whole. It's simply amazing. However, I beg you to stop saying "Oh, shiny!". It's a reflex that's hardwired into human nature (as evidenced very well by my little niece who will tenaciously grab onto anything shiny, even if it happens to be stuck to your ear). The UR-100V "Stardust" replica luxury Watches does much more than that.
Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, co-founders of URWERK, who serve as master watchmakers and brand artistic directors respectively, cited the stellar inspiration of UR-100V, alluding to Carl Sagan's famous saying: We are all "made of stars" and combined the two. The authors compare the randomness of snowfall with the orderly chaos of the stars. I agree with most of it, but with a twist. What we see in the disorderly distribution of stars in the sky isn't chaos—it's entropy.
An article looking at the new watch version might not be appropriate to explore the nuances between chaos and entropy, so let's just say it's a technical difference related to similar but different concepts in physics and leave it there for now. The word entropy appears in every science-based theory about how the universe came to be, how the Earth formed, and how the Earth supports life. That's why I admire the snow marquetry technique and how it resonates against the backdrop of this space-age timepiece. high quality copy watches
A total of 400 diamonds provide the dazzling backdrop for the two cosmic indications on the two quadrants of the watch. The two indications consist of simple windows to view the minute markers attached to the outgoing and incoming hour modules over a 20-minute period. Nominally, they represent the distance the Earth travels around the Sun in 20 minutes (35,740 kilometers) and the distance the Earth rotates around the Sun's axis in 20 minutes (555 kilometers). But I don't like thinking about them that way, because it describes the signs as something that happens in space and has nothing to do with us. I prefer to think of these instructions as translations. They took something we're all too familiar with - banal,
Put it this way, URWERK’s iconic Wandering Hours display is an evocation of the divine entropy that guided the birth of our solar system and set our planet in motion. By the way, did you know that the word "planet" has its roots in the Greek word for "wanderer"?
I don't want to get carried away. Clearly, the URWERK UR-100V is nowhere near the complexity and breathtaking beauty of the universe. But in a 41mm x 50mm case, it does do a commendable job of approximating that.
